Description	Underrated was founded by CMJ Editor Rachael Darmanin as a print 'zine in 2003. In 2005, the 'zine moved fully to the Web. Since then, Darmanin has covered a wide range of topics, from national tours to local reviews to arcane lists. Content Underrated's content is divided into several sections: features, podcasts, events, photos and links. The site has a diverse coverage umbrella. While nearly all features and blog posts related to music, they vary widely in style and content. For example, a quick scan of the features page will reveal a Ra Ra Riot feature, a top 10 movie soundtracks list and a tongue-in-cheek guide to rock show etiquette. Underrated is updated as Darmanin's schedule allows. Compared to full-time blogs, the posts are sporadic, but consistent. There are at least a handful of updates every week, though usually, no more than one a day. Staff Underrated is Darmanin's pet site and she is the only official staff member. She works full-time for CMJ.

Pros	Darmanin's site is entirely independent and completely beyond any influence. If she likes your band, she will blog about it here. Conversely, if she doesn't, she won't. Darmanin's blog is a favorite amongst in-the-know reporters and bloggers. Getting coverage there may not hit hundreds of thousands of music fans, but it will hit other journalists.
Cons	Because of her busy schedule, Darmanin cannot devote full-time hours to her blog, which is too bad, because it is amongst the most entertaining in New York. Again, because of her schedule, Darmanin can be tough to get a hold of.
