Time Out was founded in the 1960s as a British listings magazine. The company now publishes over 20 Time Out publications. Time Out NY is the largest Time Out magazine. Its offices are located on Tenth Ave. in Manhattan, New York City. Unlike competitors Village Voice and the L Magazine, Time Out NY tends to focus most of its music coverage on national artists, though local musicians are reviewed and profiled as well. Like other Time Out publications, Time Out NY has a well-organized events listing with featured critics' picks.

Pros	Time Out NY's boasts a large and diverse circulation. Time Out NY has one of the largest staffs of any freely weekly in New York City. This means, unlike smaller (but equally busy) publications, someone will read your press inquiry. Time Out NY's show listings are extremely well-organized, maybe for easy niche browsing.
Cons	Time Out NY's coverage, though focused on the city, also spends a significant amount of copy already established, national acts. However, local artists do receive some attention.
