Description Showpaper was founded in Spring 2007 by a group of musicians, artists and promoters in Queens, NY. The paper's most well-known founder is promoter Todd Patrick. The paper was founded to promote the Tri-State area D.I.Y. music and art scene, present features and interviews and foster the community. It is a free paper and currently has no advertising.

Showpaper is published bi-weekly. The paper can be found in record stores, cafes and restaurants. As of Fall 2007, distribution was limited, but expanding. Showpaper also includes a growing listing of New York area all ages music events.

One of the more unique facets of the paper is its "I Saw You" section. Individuals are encouraged to write in to section and say "hello" to others they have met at shows and lost touch with or even whom they've never met, but seen at several events.

Showpaper is currently seeking interns with backgrounds in publishing, reporting and design.
