Topics covered in Ins & Outs Magazine range from concert reviews to art history features to New York business profiles. Often times, music, art and dance reporting is blended. Ins & Outs covers local and national artists and musicians, but there is always a New York angle to the coverage.

In addition to print publications, Ins & Outs maintains a Web site hosting most of the magazine's content online. The most unique aspect of the site is its online gallery.

Ins & Outs' editorial staff is also devoted to the spread of environmental awareness. Medina included a publisher's note in the magazine's "green" issue layout out his papers position on the issue, stating, "although Ins & Outs Magazine is above all an arts publication, we cannot ignore the drastic changes affecting our environment."
