Do-It-Yourself (DYI), was the back bone of the punk movement in the early 1970's. The basis of the movement is to succeed without the help of a major label, or in some cases, no label, or support other than that of the musicians or artists themselves. While many people are quick to take on outside help, there are quite a few things which can be done without such help.
