Description	dBm Pro Audio Services is a Pro Audio, Electronic Musical Instrument, Guitar and Vintage Synth repair shop. dBm opened in 1987. It is a licensed repair facility for most keyboard and amp manufacturers, with certification from Rhodes, Behringer, Korg, Nord and others. They are not, however, a certified Moog repair shop. Some of their clients include David Bowie and Pat Metheny. dBm also has contracts with major music retailers, both locally and nationally. In addition to repairs, dBm sells parts for home repair. Most major manufacturers warranties are accepted. The staff will perform mail-in repairs. dBm's official hourly rate is $110 per hour. The repair shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. dBm technicians will do on-site calls in the New York area for a minimum of $450.

Pros	dBm is the largest commercial instrument repair center in New York City. However, rather than slow things down, the company's large size has resulted in a streamlined repair process. Overnight/Emergency repairs are possible for an additional flat fee of $125. dBm's technicians have more experience than most competitors. Though their rates are somewhat pricey, a dBm technician is more likely to be able to fix your problem quicker than many others.
Cons	Relative to its competitors, dBm is somewhat pricier. Expect to pay double for smaller projects. In smaller repair shops, prices are done on an ad hoc basis and many times, a repair's price is less scientifically calculated. dBm's pricing procedures may be more professional, but they are also almost always more expensive. This, however, assures the customer that the pricing is legitimate and identical for each customer, dispensing with the covert practice of "sizing-up" a customer and charging them accordingly, the bane of many smaller repair shops. While dBm may make sense for high-end repairs, for pedals and smaller items, you might want to look elsewhere.
