Description	Brooke Baxter is an American artist, musician, writer, booker and promoter. She operates and co-owns Glasslands in Brooklyn, NY, with her business partner and fellow artist, Rolyn Hu. Baxter books primarily experimental rock acts and avant garde performance artists. Biography Baxter has been working collaboratively with artists and musicians since the late ‘90s. Baxter founded the Glass House Gallery in September, 2004. Glass House was primarily an experimental art space, but also hosted musical performances, film screenings and other events. When that venue closed in 2006, Baxter and Rolyn Hu opened Glasslands in its place. Since then, shows have become a regular focus of the venue. Baxter is also a member of the Freestyle Arts Collective, a non-profit group specializing in interactive art. In addition to her work as an artist and a musician, Baxter has gained some notoriety as a writer. She has self-published four books of poetry, written and produced several short films and scripted a play.

Pros	Baxter's work ethic is superhuman. Her life is devoted to the arts. If you are an artist or a musician, she will be happy to work with you. Baxter's approach to booking is similar to Todd Patrick's, in that, if she is a fan of your music or artwork, she'll have no problem booking you with a national act, regardless of the possible monetary consequences.
Cons	What some call experimental, others may label self-indulgent. Baxter-curated shows can occasionally run long and go late.
