Pros	Shimkovitz's blog may be the most unique music Web site. His knowledge of African music is of incredible depth, no doubt augmented by his academic experience. The artists Shimkovitz uncovers are sometimes extremely obscure, though he shows plenty of reverence for some of the more popular names in African popular music. His writing is always enlightening.
Cons	If you haven't released music in, and inspired by, Africa, Shimkovitz won't cover you. Many of the records Shimkovitz draws attention to are extremely hard-to-find, which can definitely put a damper on any collector's day. While Shimkovitz uploads every MP3 he has available from each release, if you want to find more from a particular artist, a ticket to Kenya might be your only chance.
